Grilled Lemon Butter Salmon

Me having to cook fish

*

I love to cook, however I don't like fish but my family does. With that being said these filthy family members need to eat therefore I came up with this salmon recipe. The recipe I am sharing today will for sure feed your family while leaving you with the smell of a fish lingering in the air. My family says it smells great but I just want to boot. On a side note the lemon will help to get the disgusting small of that fish out of your fingers. Good luck and may the fish be with you!
*
I serve this dish with a wide variety of sides. Yellow rice and chickpeas seem to be the favorite, but again I do not eat the fish, only the rice and whatever man samie I made for myself.  Don't be a Karen, use your imagination and I'm sure it will work.
*
I can't believe i'm posting a fish recipe, but my family and friends say it's bomb.
PS I prefer to make this on the grill to mitigate the smell in my house. You can make this in the oven just replace the fish tray with a oven safe pan

Me when my wife asks for this
*
Preheat your oven or grill now
375 deg
I can smell it while i'm typing this
*

What do you need

1 Seafood grilling tray - Oven (oven safe pan like cast iron)

*

Got ya.. This tray is very useful for this dish

You can buy this from the home depot

*

1 basting brush

1 2 lb salmon filet

1/4 tablespoon of ground black pepper

1/4 tablespoon salt

1 Lemon

1 tablespoon of dry basil

½ stick butter

1 tablespoons of olive oil

2 fresh garlic cloves

1 laundry pin for your nose

And We Begin………

Fish.

1 Place the fish on a seafood grill tray *skin down* (I always put paper towels under the tray to stop and nasty from getting on my cutting board also treat the try with oil prior to placing fish)

* Can you smell that? cause I can :-(

2 Season lightly with salt and pepper (Make sure to cover the entire filet)

*

Pic in place of salt, Cause lemons look better

*

3 Slice the lemon and place on top of the fish *you need to baste the filet with the butter mix before placing the lemon slices. see below..

*

Look at it Karen Just look...

*

4 Hold Fast - Is your grill on?

Basil butter.

1 Mince two cloves and place in a small microwave safe bowl

2 Add 1 tablespoon of dry ground basil in bowl

3 Add ½ stick of salted butter to the bowl

4 Microwave until melted and stir

*

*

Make it look like that or else it wont work

*

Cooking.

*

The tray is seasoned with lost boys

*

1 Lightly brush the warm butter onto the flesh of the fish. (I do this right before I place this on the grill) Make sure to cover everything including the lemon.

*

Some people like this I guess

*

2 Place the center burner on your grill to low, Front and back should be on Medium

3 Set the seafood tray in the center of the grill

*

 Put it where I say

*

4 Close the grill allow to cook for 5 min

5 Baste the fish every 5 Min ( make sure you close the lid in between each basting)

*

 Sausage is for me

*

6 I cook this for around 20 min however feel free to add or subtract time depending on your grill or your preference) - *I like to see browning on the sides of the filet before serving.

7 Remove from heat and baste one last time. Allow the fish to rest for 5 min prior to serving.

 *

It broke when I took it off cause I was holding my nose

*

Booo yahhh…. Now go enjoy your friends and family just keep it away from me!!

*

So Babe how does dinner smell behind the glass wall

*

Really though all of my friends and family ask me to make this nearly every weekend. They can't get enough - generally I am making on average 4lbs. FML…………

Now as I said I like to serve this with yellow rice and chickpeas. But if you enjoy greens, why not a nice summer salad with a raspberry vinaigrette, your call.
Sit back, relax and watch your family and friends enjoy the fruits of your labor. Did I mention I will not clean any of this up. I hate FISH….
I hope you enjoy as much as they do
*
Hope you had fun and make sure to send me pics of your messy kitchen and the finished product
*
As much as I loath fish, I put up with it.
I love seeing people eat and enjoy my cooking
Hope you do as well
